After graduating as Registered Nurse, I continued my education at the University of Leuven on the department Hospital and Nursing Sciences and the department of Economic Sciences. I started working at the University Hospital of Leuven and continued my education in several institutions. My main interests are computer sciences, medical statistics, data management and -analysis and medical writing. I have a huge specialisation in Thoracic Surgery, both medical and nursing related, such as esophageal cancer surgery, lung cancer surgery, malignant pleural mesothelioma, lung transplantation, Quality of Life and nutrition related problems.
My work as Registered Nurse, Datamanager and Clinical Trial Coordinator in the University Hospital of Leuven, Department of Thoracic Surgery, gives me the opportunity to combine the daily practice and academic requirements. In this setting, management and analysis of patient related data is becoming increasingly important.
In the year 2000, I started up D3A as a consultancy firm, specialised in Medical Data Management and Statistical Analysis.
Over the years I developed skills in many specialised areas, which you can find on this website.
